“What makes the difference between wishing and realizing our wishes? Lots of things, and it may take months or years for a wish to come true, but it’s far more likely to happen when you care so much about a wish that you’ll do all you can to make it happen.” Fred Rogers
Like you, I’ve been wishing that Covid 19 would be history by this time, and we could get back to dancing together again. Unfortunately, we aren’t quite there yet. I received notification from Appalachian State University that 2021 summer events should be held virtually. So our months in planning for Blue Ridge Scottish Dance School are indeed turning into years, and we have made the painful decision to cancel our gathering for 2021.
Looking forward, please save the dates July 3-10, 2022. The school will kick off Sunday, July 3 and culminate with the ball on Friday, July 8. But we encourage all attendees to stay for the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games which run July 7-10. We will book the rooms at Appalachian State for Sunday afternoon check-in on the 3rd and a Sunday morning check out on the 10th. Your BRSDS board will stay hard at work to make our third try a huge success! We hope your 2022 plans include us.
